About Anime Shrine

Who?
Anime Shrine was started and continues to be run by one person, Joseph Herbert (ShrineMaster.com)

What?
Anime Shrine is an ever-growing resource for anime related information and media.

When?
Anime Shrine has had a long run, from October 1996 to the present with only a 1 year gap from Summer 2006 to Summer 2007

Where?
Anime Shrine started in Davenport, Iowa, but since Joseph Herbert joined the U.S. Navy he's moved around between Groton, CT and Newport News & Norfolk, VA.

Why?
Joseph Herbert originally built the site because he thought the internet was cool and he wanted to get in on it. It eventually grew into something he could turn and point to as a reference for his web design and programming skills. Impressive eh? It continues to be a good way to keep the skills sharp, even though the U.S. Navy won't use his 11+ years of experience.

What Else?
Previous Header Images - This is a collection of many of the previous header images that displayed on Anime Shrine over the years. The site has had nearly 20 different designs over the years. 3 had random images in them.

The Art Book Collection - Where did the advertising money go? Alot went to Research Materials.

Relics - Just some of the things I've collected over the years. Stuff someone couldn't really buy.
